DESCRIPTION
PT2502 is an integrated 12V 3-phase sensor-less (noHall sensor required) BLDC motor controller. Threephase motor control with square/trapezoidal wave isbased on detecting a zero-crossing signal generatedfrom the motor back-EMF (BEMF) and providesrobust control stability that is not easily affected bydifferent motors. Soft-switching control technologyoutputs trapezoidal/quasi-sinusoidal-wave currentand further reduces audible electro-current noise.PT2502 provides an internal +5V voltage regulator tosupply power to the analog and digital blocks. For400V high-voltage motor control applications, anexternal high voltage gate driver and six N-channelMOSFETs are required. For 12V to 24V operation,PT2502 can drive high-side P-channel MOSFET andlow-side N-channel MOSFET with a simple levelshifter circuit. Optimized parameter settings fordifferent motors and applications may be written toOTP memory. The PT2502 is provided in an SSOP28package.
